When we last posted, our Head Team candidates were in the midst of their apprentice-style challenge, running a myriad of activities to raise funds for Breast Cancer now.
It all 'kicked' off with the football tournament, seeing teams from all year groups competing against each other, for the coveted trophy. For two days, teams fought it out at break and lunch, leading to a thrilling final between Year 10 and Year 8. Despite their Manager's tactical substitutions, Year 8 were narrowly beaten by the Year 10s!

There was nothing competitive about the next learner event...Pencoed's first glow-in-the-dark disco! As well as busting moves to some great tracks, learners were able to purchase snacks, drinks, and most importantly glow sticks! Firday lunch time saw the Sports Hall bathed in a neon glow, and even Mr Jones was spotted on the dance floor!

While the learners were exerting themselves physically, staff were putting their grey-matter to the test. Our Head Team candidates put on a fabulous coffee morning for staff, with tea, coffee, and most importantly delicious cakes! They them crammed into the annexe for a challenging 'not-a-pub' quiz... as you can see, it was taken VERY seriously, with the Science department claiming victory!

However, in all this fun, the most important task was the raising funds for Breast Cancer Now, and we can proudly reveal that thanks to the 6th Form's hard work, and staff and learners generosity, over £700 was collected!
We would also like to thank the companies who donated prizes and supplies to make these days such a success; helping our school community help the wider community:
Finally, thanks to ALL of the Head Team candidates. The time, effort and hard work you put in to these events was greatly appreciated by all involved, and we are so impressed by your dedication. The 6th Form team had a really difficult task choosing, but our Head Team 2025-26 are:
